Our Heritage in Furniture Manufacturing

Our roots go back to Kearney Furniture, a family furniture business established in the 1970s.

Navan and the wider Meath area have a long-standing connection with furniture manufacturing, with generations of skilled craftsmen developing expertise in woodworking, upholstery, furniture production and finishing.

It was within this manufacturing tradition that the Kearney family built its experience.

Over the decades, Kearney Furniture developed from a traditional family furniture business into an experienced B2B furniture manufacturer and supplier, working with businesses throughout Ireland.

Our work expanded into the healthcare and medical sector, where we supplied furniture to specialist companies and healthcare furniture businesses, including Michael Kearney Medical Furniture, as well as companies involved in healthcare interiors and space design.

These relationships and years of manufacturing experience gave us a detailed understanding of the demands of healthcare environments and helped shape the specialist direction of the business today.

From Kearney Furniture to J&L Healthcare Furniture

In 2017, J&L Healthcare Furniture was officially established, marking the next stage in our family's furniture manufacturing journey.

The business evolved from its traditional furniture manufacturing roots into a company specialising in the manufacture and supply of healthcare and medical furniture.

While the name changed, the foundations did not.

The craftsmanship, manufacturing knowledge, customer relationships and trust developed through Kearney Furniture continue through J&L Healthcare Furniture today.

Our third generation continues to build on that foundation, combining decades of furniture experience with modern manufacturing methods, healthcare-focused design and responsive customer service.

A Third-Generation Family Business

Today, J&L Healthcare Furniture is led by the third generation of the Kearney family.

Laura Kearney, Director, leads the company alongside Jason Kearney, Head of Operations, who brings more than 20 years of experience in the furniture industry, with extensive hands-on knowledge of manufacturing, production, quality control, scheduling and healthcare furniture solutions.

Together, they continue the family tradition of furniture manufacturing while developing J&L as a specialist healthcare and medical furniture company.
